Design Museum Exhibition: Designing Modern Life 1920s–2000s

1980s: The New Nightlife, The Haçienda nightclub, Manchester designed by Ben Kelly.

The Design Museum is currently hosting the above exhibition. The exhibition includes part re-creations of interiors, collections of products and graphics selected as classics from each decade. 1920?s: The New Home, Le Corbusier and Charlotte Periand's apartment designed for Le Corbusier's cousin Pierre Jeanneret. 1930s: The New Transport, Frank Pick's Hammersmith Tube. 1950s: The New Tourism, The Royal SAS Hotel by Arne Jacobson. 1950s–60s The New Roads, motorway signs by Jock Kinnear and Margaret Calvert. 1960s: The New Fantasy, sets for Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odessy with a Hilton Hotel set by Oliver Mourge. 1980s: The New Nightlife, The Haçienda nightclub designed by Ben Kelly. 2000s: The New Anti-Design represented by Marti Guixe.
