Held annually in Cannes, MIPIM (Marché International des Professionnels d'Immobilier) is widely recognised as the world's leading and most influential real estate event attracting key decision-makers from the international property sector and related industries.

Manchester at MIPIM

The Manchester at MIPIM Partnership, formed from companies based or working in Greater Manchester, each year head for Cannes to champion the City and region as the original modern city and a destination for Business and Property Investment.

BKD were asked by Marketing Manchester to design the 2008 stand at MIPIM. The death of Anthony H Wilson earlier in the year prompted MM to ask BKD to design the stand as a way of recognising Tony Wilson's immeasurable contribution to the city of Manchester. It was clear from the outset that references to the design of The Haçienda nightclub should be the main reference point for the design of the MIPIM stand. This became manifest through the use of large black and yellow stripes within the carpet throughout the stand. For four days the Marketing Manchester stand at MIPIM 2008 paid homage to Tony Wilson, Factory Records and The Haçienda.

Attendance figures for MIPIM in 2008 were as follows:
29,000 delegates
2,600 exhibitors
